Privacy policy
Dump Meals is a static website: a set of pages and files. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no database of visitors. This page explains what is and isn't collected, and by whom.
Your planner choices
The Dump-Bag Planner runs entirely in your browser. The recipes you choose and how many bags of each are saved in your browser's local storage on this computer, so they're still there when you come back. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they're never put in a web address. The Clear my choices button removes them, and so does clearing your browser's data for this site.
Advertising and cookies
The site is paid for by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, and may use information about your visits to this and other websites to show ads that interest you. Ads don't appear on printouts, or on the about, contact or privacy pages, or the error page.
You can control this. You can turn off personalized ads at Google Ads Settings, and industry-wide opt-outs are available at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It records the pages viewed, an approximate location derived from your internet address, and general device and browser type. We use it in aggregate to decide what to improve. Our code doesn't send your planner choices to it. Analytics sets its own cookies so it can tell a returning visit from a new one.
Purchases
Printable extras are sold through Gumroad. When you buy one, you leave this site for Gumroad's checkout, and Gumroad collects your payment details, email address and order under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details Gumroad passes to sellers, such as your email address and what you bought, and use them only to deliver your purchase and answer questions about it.
Server records
Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages receive your internet address and the address of each page or file your browser asks for, because that's how pages reach you. We don't use these to identify anyone.
Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Union or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you rights over personal data held about you, including access, correction and erasure. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you similar rights, including the right to know what is collected and to opt out of its sale. This site doesn't sell personal information. Because there are no accounts, we hold no personal records about you to retrieve; requests about data held by Google for advertising or analytics can be made to Google, or to us and we'll point you to the right place.
Children
The site is for a general adult audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, university extension services and other sites. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them; this one doesn't.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
